Historically, The United Church of Monticello combined the First Congregational Church (affiliated with the United Church of Christ) and St. Luke's Methodist Church (affiliated with the United Methodist Church), joining their congregations and their resources in the service of God and community.

Today, we welcome people from a variety of religious traditions, as well as those who have no prior church affiliation.

The United Church of Christ reminds us that “God is still speaking,” and that we should never “place a period where God has placed a comma”!

The United Methodists encourage us to have “open hearts, open minds, and open doors.”

Those admonitions remind us all that we are each sojourners, coming together to love and support one another as we explore our Christian faith , face the difficult challenges in our lives , and recognize and celebrate major life transitions.

The United Church is a place where you can come for Sunday worship (10 am), offer your children Sunday school (9 am, during the school year), and participate in a variety of opportunities for fellowship and service.
